There are plenty of local places where you can rent a bike by the hour, or if you prefer, you can bring your own and head off the beaten path to explore the stunning beauty of the Lake Districts various mountains, hills, rives and more.

Get To Know The Local Area & Go Shopping

The Lake District has plenty of quaint villages that are worth exploring, from the ever-popular Windermere to the stunningly beautiful and friendly Grasmere. Whether you’re looking for a spot to grab some locally sourced produce or just want to get an idea of what the locals are up to, there are plenty of local shops and cafes that will give you a great insight into life in the area.

The Morecambe Light Festival

This year, Morecambe’s waterfront will be lit up with a range of different installations and experiences for the whole family. From light shows to interactive installations, the festival will offer plenty of exciting ways to enjoy the area. Completely free and open to the public, this light trail runs along Morecambe Seafront for around a mile, starting at the Sailing Club Jetty and ending at the Midland Hotel.

Open from 6pm to 10pm, February 16th – 18th 2023, each installation will also be reflected in the high evening tide, creating an unforgettable view that is sure to amaze!

Experience The Beauty of The RSPB Leighton Moss Nature Reserve

If you’re staying in or near the Lake District, you can’t afford to ignore the Leighton Moss Nature Reserve. Just a short drive from the borders of the Lake District, the reserve is home to an abundance of different bird species.

Take a guided tour to learn more about the reserves and its inhabitants, or just wander around on your own and take in all the sights and sounds of nature.
