From an ultimate Christmas fair to a visit to a chance to meet Santa at his grotto, there’s something for everyone!
Lancaster on Ice
25th November 2022 – 8th January 2023
Lancaster on Ice is an award-winning event that provides an idyllic, frozen Christmas haven for the whole family, but for young children in particular. Working with local primary schools and children’s organisations, Lancaster on Ice aims to give as many children as possible the chance to experience the wonders of the ice rink through a young people’s programme.
Located in the historic Dalton Square, Lancaster on Ice returns for the 2022 season with not only an ice skating extravaganza but also a host of Christmas market stalls, a giant Tipi Bar and a huge ferris wheel. This event is filled with festive fun and is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit!
Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Fair
1st – 4th December 2022
The Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Fair has always been a firm favourite with locals and this year it’s promised to be an event like no other! Visitors can expect a full blown Christmas extravaganza with plenty of things to see and do throughout the weekend including great food and drink stalls, gift stalls, an indoor market and lots of entertainment too.
The Christmas Fair will take place from Thursday 1st December to Sunday 4th December and will have “The True Spirit of Kirkby Lonsdale” at the heart of it. With plenty of Christmas activities on offer, this event is certainly one not to be missed.
Santa’s Grotto at Greenlands Farm
November 2022 dates: 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th
December 2022 dates: 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd
Taking place across numerous dates in November and December, a visit to Santa’s Grotto is a truly magical experience your children will never forget! Greenlands Farm will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland where children get the chance to meet Father Christmas himself. Not only that, but they will venture into Mrs Claus’ kitchen where they can decorate their own dessert, they’ll make their own reindeer food with Santa’s elves and pick out their own gift from the toyshop with the golden coin given to them by Santa.
What better way to spend a festive family day out than at this Christmas wonderland! There are also plenty of other Christmas events at Greenland Farm leading right up to the big day, so be sure to check them out.
Morecambe Christmas Family Pantomime
10th – 24th December 2022
Is it really Christmas if there isn’t a pantomime? Oh no it isn’t! The magical pantomime of Cinderella returns to the famous Winter Gardens this festive season. With multiple showtimes available across a two week period, this traditional show is sure to be filled with sparkling costumes, beautiful scenery and a laugh a minute!
Spectators can expect to see their favourite pantomime characters including Cinderella herself, Prince Charming, the ugly Step Sisters, the Fairy God Mother and of course Buttons. This timeless show runs from Saturday 10th December to Saturday 24th December.
Levens Hall Christmas Market
8th – 12th December 2022
Last year, the Levens Hall Christmas market was a huge success and this year it’s back, it’s bigger and it’s better. Visitors can enjoy an extended walk around the gorgeous gardens that will be filled with Christmas lights and gaze upon the beautifully decorated house. There’ll be plenty of Christmas shopping thanks to the stalls occupied by amazing local craftsmen. You can also expect to feast upon delicious seasonal food and drink all whilst listening to the festive sounds of talented local musicians.
