Silverdale is a great place to be, and it has a great deal to offer to both those who live there, and people visiting the area alike. There is so much to see and do, and the peaceful countryside location makes it the ideal village to escape to if you need to relax and recuperate.
There are so many wonderful reasons to visit Silverdale, and we thought we would talk you through a few of the best.
Lots of great walks
Silverdale is a fabulous place for those who love a good walk. The seaside location offers a beautiful beach to wander along, with views across Morecambe Bay and plenty to see. There are coves along the coastline to explore, and plenty of wildlife to be seen, particularly the various species of birds who call the sands home.
Take a wander through Eaves Wood, where you will find ancient yew trees, and be able to soak up the tranquil atmosphere. In spring, you can enjoy a carpet of bluebells and other wildflowers including primroses, violets, and wood anemone.
Wonderful wildlife
The Arnside and Silverdale area is the perfect place for any nature or wildlife lover, with an abundance of wonderful flora and fauna to be seen. When walking in Silverdale and neighbouring Arnside, be sure to keep an eye out for butterflies, birds and wildflowers.
Silverdale is home to a fantastic nature reserve that you can visit, RSPB Leighton Moss, which is the largest reed bed in North West England perfect for catching starling murmurations in the winter months.
Awesome art
If you’re an art lover, then it may surprise you to hear that Silverdale has its fair share of artistic endeavours to enjoy, including its very own Art Trail. The Silverdale Art Trail usually takes place on the last weekend in June, and artwork is exhibited in locations across the village, including artists’ homes and studios, outdoors, and in schools.
