Pubs and restaurants in Arnside is a wonderful choice to spend a day out. If you love the great outdoors, then Arnside Knot is the perfect opportunity to hike, offering stunning views of the surrounding area and Lakeland Fells.

The Kent estuary offers the chance to walk along the beach, so if you fancy a more leisurely stroll, stay beside the water and take it all in.

You will also have a chance to see the Arnside Bore, which is a tidal wave that occurs at high tides, when the incoming tides meet resistance from the channels of the bay.

After you’ve spent some time exploring the beautiful area of Arnside, you’ll need to refuel, and luckily there are plenty of great places to enjoy some food, or a well-earned pint. Here are some of the best for you to try!

The Royal

The Royal offers a warm welcome in the heart of Silverdale, and you won’t be disappointed by the fantastic food on offer. They are proud to offer locally sourced, seasonal produce, and a menu filled with delicious meals to suit every palate.

Whatever you fancy, whether that be something from the grill, pub classics, or even homemade pizza, they’ve got you covered, and they also have a great range of vegetarian and gluten-free options too.

If you need something to wash your food down with, they also serve a range of cask ales from some of the best breweries, as well as fine wines.

 

The Albion

The Albion is a traditional pub right by the waterfront, offering the chance to enjoy views across the bay while enjoying a pint or some of their award-winning food. 

Enjoy views across the Kent estuary of the Lakeland fells while you dine, which are particularly breath-taking at sunset. You may even catch the Arnside Bore, so it’s well worth checking the tide times if you’re planning a visit!

Their food offering is great, with everything from sandwiches to Cumbrian lamb chops. They also do a wonderful create your own deli board, where you can select your own dishes to make up your perfect platter!

 

Gado Gado Bar & Grill

Gado Gado Bar & Grill is an Asian fusion restaurant, serving food from all around Asia, and also English dishes too. They have vegan free and vegan options available, and are just a ten-minute walk from the train station on the promenade. 

If you love sushi, Thai curries, or pad Thai, then you’re in the right place, and their menu is very reasonably priced. Their dessert offering is impressive too, with dishes such as tapioca pearls and ginger creme brulee.

 

Ye Olde Fighting Cocks

Ye Olde Fighting Cocks is a historic hotel, and it also has a restaurant downstairs. Located on the promenade, it offers great views, and the choice of fresh homemade food won’t disappoint either.

On a nice day, you can make use of their outdoor seating area to really make the most of your glorious surroundings, whether that’s enjoying some award winning ales, or enjoying a meal.

On Sundays, you can treat yourself to a traditional Sunday roast, which are expertly cooked by their chef.

 

Moochin’ About

Moochin’ About is a record label, but they also have an espresso bar/jazz cafe in Arnside, where you can buy Jazz, Blues and world music on vinyl, but also enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat.

They serve locally sourced products, and while there isn’t much room, if you don’t mind sharing a table with others, it’s a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a panini or a halloumi wrap.

 

Arnside Chip Shop

While not technically a pub or a restaurant, we couldn’t end this list without mentioning the Arnside Chip Shop. You can eat in, so we still think it counts!

A visit to the seaside wouldn’t be complete without a pit stop for some fish and chips, and Arnside Chip Shop serve up fabulous traditional fish and chips, and even offer gluten-free options for many of the classic chippy offerings so everybody can enjoy it!

The cafe also has plenty of lovely vegetarian options, so they really do cater to everybody.

It’s not unusual to see a long queue out the door when they open, but you can now also order online, to save your legs.
